Our Lady of Guadalupe Knights of Columbus Chapter No. 14556 was founded to encourage members of our parish to support our Catholic family in the Elmsford area. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patroness of all of the Americas.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Knights of Columbus Chapter No. 14556 meets the third Wednesday of the Month at 8:00 P.M. in the Parish Meeting Room. Brother Garrett Cronin is a 4th Degree member and is our current Grand Knight. Please contact Gary at cell phone (914) 841-5916.
The Knights support the parish and our seminarians studying for the priesthood at St. Joseph’s Seminary, Yonkers, NY. Our members participate and support all of the programs in Mt. Carmel Parish including the parish elementary school, the Food Pantry, and the Knights of Columbus [Winter] Coats for Kids. The Chapter founded the English as a Second Language Program currently operating at the Parish. Each year on the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe (December 12th) the parish has a celebration which includes a parade, the Mass and a reception for the families in our parish hall.
The Knights participate and support the Knight of Columbus NYS Council in charitable and benevolent programs which includes support for Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY, programs supporting the right to life movement, the annual March for Life in Hartsdale, New York City, Washington, DC, refurbishment of the old St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Manhattan, and the “Keep the Christ in Christmas” program. Currently, the members are investigating the establishment of a Catholic scouting program and a basketball foul shooting program for all members of the parish.
The Chapter members are encouraged to evaluate the opportunity to purchase affordable life insurance and disability insurance for their entire family though Knights of Columbus Insurance Programs. The Knights of Columbus Insurance Program has received one of the highest insurance ratings in the USA and Canada and currently has over $ 100 billion in force. The insurance program was specifically founded to provide non discriminatory access to life insurance and protect the financial interests of Catholic families continuing the mission of the founder of the Knight of Columbus, the venerable Fr. Michal J. McGivney.
